Homecoming is the reunion festival of the FPT Arena family, which is the occasion for re-telling the traditions and looking back on the 5-year-period of the foundation and development of FPT Arena- the first leading multimedia training center in Vietnam.
Homecoming is the traditional event in North America annually held to welcome the former citizens to come back to their fatherland and former students to their graduating universities and colleges. The majority of high schools and colleges in America hold Homecoming at the end of September or at the beginning of October.
In Vietnam, FPT Arena is the first school to organize such an event.
Attending the festival, visitors are able to take a tour around the exhibition of fine art works and typical designs of generations of FPT Arena students during the last five years. They can also have a meeting with generations of students, enjoying outdoor activities and experiencing interesting games by the students.
The celebration starts at 9am on 30th August 2009 with notable activities such as: dialogues between school leaders with parents and potential employers, and meeting with excellent students of FPT Arena.
The music show begins at 7.30pm with a birthday cake for FPT Arena, followed by an impressive performance of Music idols of FPT Arena.
In addition, the participants are also attracted by cuisine stores with special sponsorship from leading food names such as: Duc Viet, Doco Donuts, among others.
“Homecoming” will also be organized by FPT Arena in Ho Chi Minh City at 8.30am on 30th August 2009 in Phuong Nam Book Cafe, 03 Nguyen Oanh St., Ward 10, Go Vap Dist., Ho Chi Minh City.
About the center:
FPT Arena is a center of FPT Corporation (in 2008, FPT Arena, a subsidiary of FPT University) in cooperation with Aptech Global Information Technology Training Group.
Founded in August, 2004, FPT Arena is the first center to teach multimedia and also the first implementer of the AMSP program developed by India Arena in Vietnam.
Before FPT Arena, there had been no academic multimedia training center. There had only been separate courses on Photoshop, Corel, and CAD provided by individuals and small centers. Most of these courses were self-initiated and of low quality.
Obviously, the quality of these centers was not able to meet the ever-increasing demand of the labour market. Shortly after the foundation of FPT Arena, the press headlined: “FPT Arena: a promise for multimedia experts” (Enterprise Forum Newspaper).
Following are some typical features of FPT Arena
- After five years of development, FPT Arena opened three centers (two in Hanoi and one in Ho Chi Minh City), attracting approximately 6,000 students to study there. The number of current students reaches more than 2000. This is considered as the record number compared with other centers and graphics departments of universities.
- With shorter under graduation time (one or two years) in comparison with four to five year university courses and broader and deeper knowledge training (students are trained on web design, video edition, interactive design, 3D animation, and movie effects besides subjects on graphics and printing), FPT Arena is becoming the key multimedia workforce provider.
- The “Emerging Star” award for the most developed multimedia training center was granted to FPT Arena at the annual meeting of the Global Arena System in Hyderabad, India on 19th January 2008.
- In addition, the Arena Multimedia Specialist Program (AMSP for short) by FPT Arena was also granted “Sao Khuê” award in 2008 and 2009 for Typical IT Training Service.
