This is an activity within the framework of the “Computer for schools” program by Intel and the Ministry of Education and Training to supply one million computers at referenced price in Vietnam, and at the same time, respond to the Internet- based Mathematical Problem Solving Competition- ViOlympic.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Quach Tuan Ngoc, Head of Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Education and Training; Mr.Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, General Director of Elead; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang, General Director of Bkis, together with representatives of Intel Vietnam and publishers across the nation.
ViOlympic- computer for schools is dedicatedly- designed for pupils and teachers in primary and secondary schools, creating a favourable learning condition to study and practice mathematics and other subjects in the best and safest manner.
At the introduction, Dr. Le Thong Nhat, Vice Manager of ViOlympic shared: “The strategic cooperation among Elead, ViOlympic and Bkis would bring the Computer-for-schools program a breakthrough product, which is integrated with comprehensive and safe solutions to serve the demand of learning and studying of pupils and teachers”.
ViOlympic is the especially significant computer, meaningful for those who wish to compete in the ViOlympic contest by the Ministry of Education and Training. This is the unique series to have onboard ViOlymic software for practice mathematical problem solving. The computer is also installed Myeqtext- mathematics software to meet the requirements of pupils in general and ViOlympic contest in particular.
ViOlympic computer ensures the safety and protection for pupils from negative impacts when accessing the Internet as it is pre-installed with copyright BkavPro 2009 Internet Security antivirus software, which is able to control and prevent access to websites of bad contents.
In addition, the reference price makes this product distinguished and attractive.
“Computer for schools” is the program implemented nationwide by the Ministry of Education Training and Intel Semiconductor Ltd. Vietnam to improve the accessibility and possession of modern ICT of teachers and pupils in Vietnamese schools.
“Internet-based Mathematical Problem Solving Competition - ViOlympic” is organized by the Ministry of Education and Training to help pupils get accustomed to the Internet, encouraging them to learn mathematics better while creating a friendly learning environment for them. The competition aims at developing and nurturing talent pupils.
Up to now, ViOlympic has attracted the participation of more than 820 thousand pupils. It is expected that in 2009-2010 school year, the competition would be attended by two million pupils at primary and secondary schools nationwide.
